April 3rd, 2014, Moscow

2can, an EMV-enabled mobile payment solution, has officially passed an inspection for compliance with Visa requirements and entered VisaReady program. Participation in the VisaReady program confirms that the 2can mobile payment platform has been tested both in terms of software and hardware and approved for acceptance of Visa card payments.

“It should be noted that the Russian mPOS market is demonstrating high growth rates. Today, as this technology is becoming increasingly popular and the number of companies appreciating a high potential of the mPOS technology for the subsequent growth of their business, the market needs well-defined rules for the game and clear standards. It is for this purpose that the Visa Ready program was developed,” says Svyatoslav Garal, Visa Acquiring Development Director. We are delighted to note that all of our partners are positive about the proposal to participate in that program and are actively joining it. Special thanks go to 2Can, one of the mPOS market pioneers and leaders, which again is among the first to have received the Visa Ready status.”

The VisaReady program is intended for helping device and application developers, sales outlets, and acquiring banks implement mPOS solutions consistent with Visa requirements and provide for reliable, convenient, and secure acceptance of cards.

“We are greatly honored to have our mPOS solution approved by Visa for the Visa Ready program,” notes Nikolai Zhmurenko, Co-Founder and General Director of CJSC Smartfin (trade mark: 2can). “We consider this as confirmation of the fact that we can provide our customers with a service consistent with the highest industry quality standards.”

The commercial operation of the 2can service solution based on the EMV technology was launched in February 2014 in accordance with the requirements of the Visa international payment system concerning migration to the EMV technology to reduce fraud risks.

The solution comprising a mobile application, a combined (dual) card reader, and a processing platform was certified for compliance with the EMV Level 1, Level 2, and PCI DSS standards.

In addition, 2can had materially expanded its product line by 2014 and offered the following innovative payment services to Russian consumers: a solution integrated with fiscal data recorders put into commercial operation and customized solutions developed for diverse business types (insurance companies, logistics and courier services). It is planned to launch the mPOS solution based on the Chip&PIN technology before the end of 2014.
